CRIMSON-BACKED SUNBIRD

The Crimson-backed Sunbird (Leptocoma minima) is a small, vibrant bird found in Goa and the Western Ghats. Males have a crimson back and iridescent plumage, while females are duller. It feeds on nectar and insects, plays a key role in pollination, and is commonly seen in gardens and forests.

Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary: This sanctuary is home to over 275 species of birds, including the Crimson-backed Sunbird. 

Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary: Located in the Western Ghats, this area is known for sightings of the Crimson-backed Sunbird among other endemic species. 

Western Ghats Region: The forests and plantations in this region provide a suitable habitat for the Crimson-backed Sunbird.
